HABITAT REGULATIONS ASSESSMENT
The UK is legally bound by the terms of the EC Habitats Directive. The Habitats Directive aims to conserve natural habitats and wild species throughout Europe by establising a network of protected sites known as Natura 2000.
Under the Habitats Directive an appropriate assessment is required where a plan or project is likely to significantly impact on a European site.
The Habitats Regulations Assessment is a recognised step by step process which aids to determine the likely significant effects and impacts on European sites.
SK ecologists are able to provide early advice to clients as to whether such assessment are likely to be deemed necessary, as well as working with the client and appropriate authorities to complete the formal assessment.
